Driving Licence

Drivers must produce a valid unendorsed driving licence at the commencement of rental that he/she has held for at least two years. Visitors from overseas must produce a driving licence issued in their country of permanent residence, along with an appropriate translation in English (where appropriate).

Age Limits

The minimum age limit for drivers is 23 years and the maximum is 75 years. A fee of £10 per day will apply to drivers under the age of 25 years. To rent a People Carrier (group 9) or a 4x4 SUV (group 11) driver must be over 25 years. To rent a luxury car (group 10) driver must be over 30 years.

Payment

Budget Car Rental accept major credit cards. A security deposit is required in all cases. A credit card is required to process the security and insurance deposits. Payment is made in full when the car is collected.

Rates

Rates include all compulsory Insurances, Airport Surcharge, Road Fund Tax (RFT), Government Tax, Unlimited Mileage and 24hr Breakdown cover. Budget Car Rental reserves the right to amend prices without notice. Prices quoted at time of reservation however are guaranteed.

Cancellations, Amendments and No-Shows

If you need to cancel your car rental, please contact us at reservations@budget-stansted.com or call our reservations department at +44 (0) 1279 681396. If you cancel 48 hours prior to your pickup time there will be no charge. Cancellation after this time or if you do not pick up the car will incur a fee of £20 inc. VAT.

Reservation Amendments

To amend a reservation simply cancel the original reservation and then re-book online. There is no charge for this facility and a cancellation fee does not apply.

Traffic Violations, Parking Fines and Road Tolls

You are fully responsible for all road tolls and any fines or other consequences of the violation of traffic regulations (including congestion charges), parking orders or prohibitions, or any other laws or regulations, during the rental. If we are required to pay such road tolls, fines, congestion charges or associated costs, you agree that we may charge you with the amount of any fine plus a £30 inc. VAT administration charge for dealing with these matters.

London Congestion Charges

Transport for London (TfL) levies a Congestion Charge of GBP 8.00 per day for driving in Central London Mon-Fri 0700-1830 hrs, excluding Public Holidays. Full details including charges and maps can be found on the TfL Congestion Charging website at www.cclondon.com. Budget will not accept liability for these charges.

Rental Day

The minimum period of rental is 24 hours, effective from commencement of rental. Rental charges are calculated on a 24 hours = 1 day basis, and extra hours are liable to additional charges. Extensions of rentals must be approved by the rental office concerned.

Availability

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the actual car model you require is available, we reserve the right to supply a suitable alternative. We may not be able to guarantee a model, but can confirm a car group.

Insurance

The following insurances are included in your quotation:

• Third Party Insurance: - covers against damage or injury to a third party.
• Theft Protection: - covers against losses arising out of theft or attempted theft of the vehicle.
• Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance.
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): - this cover reduces your financial liability for damage caused to the
  vehicle from the full value of the vehicle to the value of the excess.
  
  The excess is:
  
  GBP £850 for car groups 1-3
  GBP £1000 for car groups 4-6, 13
  GBP £1050 for car groups 8,14
  GBP £1100 for car groups 10,12
  
  For complete "Peace of Mind" this excess can be reduced to zero by taking out the optional Excess Waiver...see below.

The following optional insurance can be purchased locally from Budget:

• Excess Waiver:- The standard Collision Damage Waiver Excess and Theft Protection Excess are reduced to zero thus eliminating any financial responsibility in the event of loss or damage to the rental vehicle (excluding tyres, wheels, windscreens and satellite navigation units).
  
  Excess Waiver costs:
  
  GBP £13 per day + VAT 20% for car groups 1-3
  GBP £15 per day + VAT 20% for car groups 4-6, 13
  GBP £18 per day + VAT 20% for car groups 8
  GBP £25 per day + VAT 20% for car groups 10-12
  GBP £20 per day + VAT 20% for car group 14.
  
  Budget reserve the right to charge a deposit equal to the excess if the renter declines the Excess Waiver. The Excess Waiver provides complete "Peace of Mind" cover.
• Personal Accident / Personal Effects Insurance :- This optional insurance can be purchased for GBP £6.75 per day and provides extensive benefits in case of injury / death.

Security Deposit

The renter will be required to leave a credit card imprint at time of rental as a deposit to cover such items as fuel, insurance extras or damage excess.

Fuel Oil & Maintenance

The cost of fuel is not included in the daily rental rate. Rental cars are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full, otherwise a re-fuelling charge will apply Oil and maintenance charges, if any, will be met by Budget on completion of rental. Budget rental cars carry full 24-hour membership of the RAC.

Additional Driver

A charge of £7.50 per day + VAT at 20% will apply for each additional driver.

Child and Infant Seats

Available at £30 per rental + VAT at 20%

GPS / Satellite Navigation Systems

Garmin GPS Satellite Navigation Systems can be booked at step 3 of the online booking process at a rate of GBP £10 per day + VAT at 20%. This charge will be included in your total quotation.
